Hello and welcome to the OpenHUD project!

What is a HUD?

General Definition:

A Head-Up-Display is an application or device attached to a viewport showing individual informations on a panel, not specific in shape, size, color or position. They provide several GUI-elements to its user and may communicate to other external applications and devices.


Where are HUDs used?

Head-Up-Displays are used in multiple types of visual devices, displays and games. That can be a physical device like in airplanes as head-mounted-display (HMD) and cars but also an virtual application like in the Linux Ubuntu distribution or user interfaces in games.
